Coursework:
During reading week, my group and I filmed our music video assignment. We chose free jazz: a collective improvisation by Ornette Coleman. The cover of the album from which this track is taken from is a painting by Jackson Pollock, a pioneer in the action painting movement. Hence, what we did was film around London by listening to the track, à la Pollock. The process was part of the final piece, and essential to its understanding. Ideally, we would have kept 37 minutes worth of unedited footage over the 37 minute track to convey the initial message, however, we had to edit it down to fit the assignment’s instructions.

Final project:
I spoke to a friend at SOAS Palestine society who received a warning for her activism. But, she refused to do an interview. When I asked her about some of the other committee members, she refused to tell me anything. I understand her point of view, as they were all already in a very precarious situation. However, I am reaching a dead end. I did not get responses from other potential interviewees yet either. I have no leads.
